    Check-in is available starting 24 hours before your flight departure time. Check-in online at lift.co.za and select Check-In on the homepage‚ alternatively click on the following link.

    Acceptable forms of ID will be required at both security points as well as boarding gates.

    Can I drop off baggage if I am checked in online?

    Yes. Simply head to the LIFT Bag Drop counters where you can get your bag weighed and tagged.

    Why can’t I check-in online even though I have booked the flight?

    If you only made your booking within the last 24 hours‚ it may take some time for the system to update before you can check-in. Please give it 30 minutes from the time you book and then check-in online using your booking reference and surname. A LIFT booking reference is a unique 8 digit code that starts with 385.

    Due to COVID-19 screening protocols‚ it is recommended that all travellers arrive at the airport at least 120 minutes prior to the flight departure time. Check-In closes strictly at 45 minutes before departure time.

    What documents are required at check-in?

    All travellers will need to present an original Government identification document (Passport‚ Drivers License‚ National ID (green book or card)) at both check-in‚ and the boarding gates.

    The identification document must match the traveller’s name and surname as indicated on the issued airline reservation.

    Children require an original birth certificate‚ either abridged or unabridged. A certified‚ physical copy of an abridged or unabridged birth certificate will be accepted as long as it is dated within 3 months.

    No digital copies of any of the above will be accepted.

    I’ve lost my ID and don’t have a driver’s license or passport. Will a certified copy be ok?

    Certified copies of an original Government identification document (Passport‚ Drivers License‚ National ID (green book or card)) will be accepted provided that the date is not older than 3 months and that a physical copy is on hand. No digital versions or printed copies will be accepted.

    Original temporary identification documents will be accepted provided they are accompanied by an affidavit which is no older than 3 months. No digital versions or printed copies will be accepted.

    Where will I find information about the boarding pass?

    After checking in online for your flight‚ your boarding pass will be sent via an SMS link to the mobile number used for the booking. From here you can download‚ print or email your pass. We suggest having your passes ready before getting to the airport.

    What should I do if I lose or forget my printed boarding pass?

    Our LIFT airport staff can reprint your pass for you. Or simply use online check-in and download a new boarding pass.

    Can people who are travelling together check-in at different times?

    Yes. When checking in online‚ you can choose which passengers to check-in. The rest of the passengers can then check-in at a later stage.
